House Parties are the best - as long as you didn't throw them. I totally agree, BUT it is one thing one must have done at least once in their lifetime! I had the chance in autumn when I had the apartment to myself for a week & I threw a party with 25 people! It was AMAZING! Although the afterwork was horrible, I would do it again anytime! :) It's a great way to socialize especially when people bring others (with your allowance only of course - make sure they bring not too many otherwise you loose controll). I got to know my lady friends boyfriends better or guy friends' mates. Also my friends got to know each other & then connected via facebook the next day. It kind of closed the circle a little. People were in such a good mood that they partied until 6 in the morning, it was WICKED! (I was fortunate enough that my neighbours weren't at home by that time)
Make sure it's not too loud though so your neighbours don't complain. Also tell everyone to bring drinks or food. Everybody brought something & it was well enough! Make sure people feel comfortable. Talk to everyone, walk YOUR party with grace & make your name as a host. The party is a success if people are still talking about it afterwards & ask you to throw a party any time soon. :) Here are some quick tips on a successful party:
+ Make sure you invite the right people (don't let any disrespectful person destroy your home)
+ talk to everyone & welcome them at the door
+ make a playlist with the latest music, mashups, etc.
+ expect nothing! The greatest parties are those that are not planned out with activities or stuff.
+ Make sure there's enough food & beverages
+ If people stay over have something at home to cure that awful hangover
+ Be yourself. Don't try to be the perfect host or something you are simply not. Your friends should love you for who you are & be happy to spend time with you.
